Myles Brennan, who was one of the QB contenders battling for the starter job at LSU this year

, declared that he's "moving away from football"

He spent a full five seasons with LSU tigers.

Brennan, who was the starting QB in the year 2020 until he had an injury

that ended the season,

On Monday, he published a lengthy message on social media,

in which he basically announced his retirement from the sport of football.

"My entire being, including my heart and soul, has been devoted

to the LSU football team for the past five years.

The opportunity to compete for LSU has exceeded all of my expectations.

What more could a young man wish for than to play quarterback for the LSU Tigers,

wear the purple and gold colors of the school, compete in Death Valley,

win a national title, and lead the team to victory?

The moments I've spent here and the emotions I've accumulated will be stored in my mind forever," it read.
